Saturday October 4, 2008
8:00 a.m.
Shoal Creek Community Church (just south of Liberty, MO)
Purpose
The Eyes on AIDS 5k and 10k Run/Walk is a community fundraising event for the Lubabalo Project. This project, supported by several non-governmental organizations, addresses primary issues causing people to struggle to survive in rural South Africa: AIDS, unemployment, diet, and lack of education. All of the proceeds from the Eyes on AIDS run/walk go directly to help meet the needs of children orphaned by AIDS in Bukwini, South Africa. The country of South Africa currently has more people infected by AIDS than any other nation. Every 14 seconds a child in Africa is orphaned by AIDS. With your help we can make a difference in these kids' lives!
Event
USATF certified 5k (3.1 miles) and 10k (6.2 miles) road course with slightly hilly terrain. Competitive run, non-competitive run and walk. Awards for top competitors in each age group. Maps available soon!
